A arte de reconstruir o passado: som e imagem na pesquisa qualitativa em ciencias sociais.

    Este artículo tiene por objeto contribuir a la discusión metodológica y técnica de investigación cualitativa que hace uso del soporte empírico, aportando para ello una técnica innovadora, el análisis fotográfico. Diversas investigaciones han demostrado que la técnica más ventajosa para la reconstrucción histórica y sociológica de un fenómeno dado o proceso, es aquella que utiliza la fotografía en combinación con otros tipos de datos empíricos. Así, los investigadores que trabajan con datos históricos y sociológicos han innovado para desarrollar estrategias de investigación que impliquen el rescate y análisis de estos tipos de datos, a través del sonido, la imagen o ambos de la forma conjugada. Entre las conclusiones más importantes se muestra que una imagen por sí sola no permite muchas inferencias histórico-sociológicas, por ello, debe estar asociado con los datos de otras fuentes (entrevistas, documentos, datos bibliográficos), para que la información del investigador sea más amplia y pueda contribuir a una investigación de mayor calidad.

    This article aims to contribute to the methodological discussion and qualitative research technique that makes use of empirical support, contributing to this innovative technology, photographic analysis. Several investigations have shown that the technique most advantageous to the historical and sociological reconstruction of a given phenomenon or process is one that uses photography in combination with other types of empirical data. Thus, researchers working with historical and sociological studies have innovated to develop research strategies that involve the recovery and analysis of these data types, through sound, image or both of the conjugates form. Among the key finding show that one picture alone does not allow many sociological and historical inferences therefore must be associated with data from other sources (interviews, documents, background information) to research information more widely and can contribute to higher quality research.
