El periodo histórico comprendido entre los años 1874 y 1936 fue el de mayor desarrollo legislativo referido a las bandas militares dentro del Ejército Español. Entre estas fechas se dieron las dos principales normas que afectaron a este colectivo, en concreto: el Real Decreto de 10 de mayo de 1875 y el Decreto de 13 de agosto de 1932, a los que se añadieron el consiguiente desarrollo normativo que pasó a regular la situación socio-laboral tanto de los Músicos Mayores, como del resto de los músicos militares.

The historical period between 1874 and 1936 was the largest legislative development that referred to military bands in the Spanish Army. Between these dates, the two main rules that affect this group, in particular the Royal Decree of 10 May 1875 and the Decree of August 13, 1932, which fitted to add the resulting policy development to regulate the social and employment situation both for the Conductors, and the rest of the military musicians.
