Resumen de Intervention methodologies: between the original and the necessary

Esta comunicación analiza las intervenciones hechas recientemente en la vivienda multifamiliar del Movimiento Moderno en la ciudad de Porto. El principal objetivo es entender el proceso evolutivo y la flexibilidad espacial y funcional de estas estructuras.
Aunque exista una conciencia para preservar la calidad arquitectónica del patrimonio moderno también hay una necesidad de adaptar el edificio a la vida contemporánea. Es importante obtener un equilibrio entre el mantenimiento de las características originales y las inevitables transformaciones espaciales, técnicas y sociales que se producen.
Algunas cuestiones se colocan: ¿Cuál de estos aspectos predomina? ¿La identidad original o los cambios consecutivos introducidos por los habitantes? ¿Qué intervenciones pueden poner en peligro la integridad del edificio?

This article analyses interventions that were recently carried out on multifamily housing from the Modern Movement in Porto. The mail goal is to understand the evolution process as well as the spatial and functional flexibility of these structures.
Although there is an awareness to preserve the architectural quality of modern heritage, there is also a need to adapt the built environment to contemporary living. It is important to balance the maintenance of the original features and the unavoidable spatial, technical and social transformations that occur.
In light of these issues, which aspects prevail, the original identity of the buildings or the consecutive changes introduced by the inhabitants? Understand what kind of interventions may jeopardize the building¿s integrity?
