  • The reason why of this article is to publish a new weight from the medieval kingdom of León. But to explain the meaning of such an object it became necessary to study the history of the coinage of the kingdom of León, a kingdom which aside the political vicissitudes, kept its own monetary system until the endo of the XIIIth century and remained in the popular custom until the end of the Middle Ages.
