La reflexión se centra en la serie de fotografías de Hans Bellmer realizadas a su muñeca en los años 30'. A través de ella, surge la pregunta sobre la posibilidad de empatía hacia el objeto de deseo. Esta criatura es, además, una transgresión de numerosos tabús, por su infantilidad, por el martirio y metamorfosis físicas (con la superposición de los senos y el sexo) y por la humillante obscenidad con la que es presentada (acorralada, sola o expuesta desnuda en un bosque). Para comprender mejor la relación que se genera con esta alteridad se utiliza la teoría de la dialéctica de la mirada de Sartre.

The reflection focuses on Hans Bellmer’s photographic seires of her doll taken during the 30s. From here arises the question of the possibility of empathy towards the object of desire. This creature represents as well a transgression of different taboos caused by its childishness, martyrdom and physical metamorphosis (with the superposition of its breast and genitals) and by the humiliating obscenity by means of which it is presented (cornered, in isolation and naked in the middle of a forest). It is Sartre’s dialectics of the look that is used to better understand the relationship brought about by this otherness.
