Resumen de GM 28. Growth in dairy breeding heifers in extensive and semiintensive conditions

At the dual purpose Bovine Unit, UNELLEZ - Guanare (09º 04' lat; 69º 48' long) a study was held to compare the performance of two groups of heifers (20 each) crossbreed (1/2 to 5/8 European), managed under two different feeding strategies experimental group (GE) on fertilized pastures, under rotational pasturing (6/24d) and 2 kg/d of a 32 % CP suplement. Test group (GT) had continous pasturing of Hiparrhenia rufa, salt and minerals. Heifers were weighted monthly and samples of forage and soil were analiced.
