Influencia del género en los estilos y estrategias de aprendizaje en estudiantes de fisioterapia

    Actualmente se promueve el aprendizaje basado en el alumnado por lo que se hace necesario investigar sobre la forma de aprender de los alumnos/as. En el conjunto de procesos que intervienen en el aprendizaje se incluyen los estilos y las estrategias de aprendizaje. El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer la relación que existe entre el género de los estudiantes y los estilos y estrategias de aprendizaje.

    Se ha realizado un estudio descriptivo transversal en estudiantes de Grado de Fisioterapia de la Facultad de Pontevedra (curso académico 2010-2011). Para determinar los estilos de aprendizaje se ha utilizado el Cuestionario Honey-Alonso de Estilos de Aprendizaje (CHAEA), y las estrategias de aprendizaje han sido evaluadas mediante el Cuestionario de Estrategias Cognitivas de Aprendizaje y Estudio (CECAE) y el Cuestionario de Estrategias de Control de Estudio (ECE).

    Hemos encontrado que los alumnos desarrollan con mayor tendencia el estilo de aprendizaje pragmático en relación a las alumnas, sin embargo éstas utilizan de forma significativa más estrategias de aprendizaje. Estos hallazgos coinciden con estudios previos, determinando que sí existen diferencias a la hora de aprender según el género de los estudiantes, planteándose nuevas incógnitas como objeto de futuras investigaciones.

    Actually promotes learning based on the students. The set of processes involved in learning, recently shown the importance of evaluating the different styles and the strategic capaci ty of the students at the time to learn. The object for this work is to discover the relationship that exists between the gender of the students and their styles and strategies of learning.

    A transversal descriptive study was done whit the students of Deg ree of Physiotherapy of Pontevedra faculty along the academic course 2010 - 2011. To determine learning styles was used Honey - Alonso Learning Styles Questionnaire (CHAEA), and learning strategies have been assessed using the Cognitive Learning and Study Stra tegies Questionnaire (CECAE) and Control study Strategies Questionnaire (ECE). The method of data collection was the survey on paper. In relationship to learning styles we have found that men students develop more the pragmatic style in relation to girls, however, they use significantly more learning strategies that men. The results of this investigation agree with previous studies, determinig that there gender affects learning. There are therefore differences in styles and strategies used, which arise a po ssible subject for futures researches.
