  • The activities of the social enterprises are located in a dynamic context of the decision makers’ concerns on European, regional, national and local level with regard to economic growth, which favors the creation of a social market economy with a high degree of competitiveness. Should we refer to the evolution of social business in Europe, it is estimated that one in four enterprises created in Europe is a social enterprise. The social enterprises are affected by the single market’s rules in terms of banking regulations, access to structural funds or the application of public procurement rules. The paper aims to explore the social enterprise in some European countries in terms of their place on the single market. The social enterprise has become a reality in most analyzed states. The different stages of social enterprise development reflect an important interaction between the social enterprise and single market.
