En este artículo el autor presenta los principales hitos por los que atravesó el desarrollo de su teoría del crecimiento a partir del revolucionario enfoque de Allyn Young quien, a juicio del autor, formulo tempranamente (1928) las bases de una verdadera teoría del crecimiento acumulativo, progresivo e inducido por la demanda. A partir de una síntesis de los aportes de Young, de un análisis del alcance y las limitaciones de estos, y de una reflexión sobre su propio trabajo, el autor propone los elementos centrales de su teoría, una teoría endógena del crecimiento auto sostenido.

In this article the author presents the principal milestones which marked the development of his theory of growth starting from Allyn Young's revolutionary approach. In the author's opinion, Allyn Young formulated as early as 1928 the basis of the true accumulative theory of growth which is progressive and induced by demand. Starting from a synthesis of Young's contribution which analyzes its importance and limitations, as well as from a reflection on his own work, the author proposes the central elements of his theory which is an endogenous theory of self sustained growth.
