Resumen de Le Christ en croix de l'église d'Oradour, une toile inédite de Juan Rodrìguez Juàrez
The painting of Christ on the Cross in a church in Ouradour, France, can be confirmed as a previously unknown work by Juan Rodrìguez Juàrez. The attribution to Juàrez, a member of one of the most important artistic dynasties in Mexico, stems from the large signature at the bottom of the painting: “Juan Rodrìguez X (j)uàrez Fa (cieba) t.” The painting thus takes its place among the rare Mexican works known in France.
