  • Resumen
    • According to a widespread opinion in the early Christian thought, in the Letters of the Greek Fathers of the IVth. -Vth. centuries can be detected a double -positive and negative- characterization of the female sex. On one hand, we find the perfect wife (optima uxor), created on the model of Mary, Jesus'Mother. On the other hand, it appers the femina instrumentum diaboli, incarnation of evil and occasion of sin for men, an image drawn from the figure of Eve, responsible for having conducted mankind to perdition. The aim of this paper is to analysed how this dichotomy works.
