  • This paper presents different definitions and concepts that are attributed to the conduct of malingering. It describes how the concept of malingering is modified as a result of changes in the philosophy of science through time. This philosophy has formulated different paradigms, which as (a) positivism; (b) post-positivism; (c) critical theory; and (d) constructivism. The last three arise as possible alternative to positivism.
