  • Resumen
    • The sedimentation in the Duero basin during the Miocene was controlled by fluvial system related with lacustrine environments that evolved in the space and in the time. Palynological analysis was done in thses deposits in order to follow the changes in the vegetation during the Miocene infill of the basin. The palynological association allow to characterize three palaeogeographic domains-Northeastern, Central and Sudeastern- with environmental, climatic and geopgraphic characteristics (altitudinal, geographic barriers, etc.). The uniformity of the palynological associations during the Miocene seem indicate that the palaeogeographic was the main factor controlling the floristic associations. In general, the vegetation of the Miocene of the Duero basin constitue an open forest developed in a region with lagoons , lakes and marshy sites. The arboreal plants are represented by conifers (Pinus), Fagaceae (Quercus), Oleaceae, etc. The non-arboreal plants include Graminae, Asteraceae and Chenopodiaceae. The aquatic or semi aquatic plants are common (Cyperaceae). The climate changes from warm temperate to temperate according to the sector.
