This Article analyzes the strikes actions of the estate public education's teachers in Rio Grande do Sul, which defined outages strikes in the years 1979, 1980 e 1982 under the situation of exhaustion in the Brazilian military regime. At the same time, is desired to analyze the social and political impact of the state educator's strikes by editorial content in the Zero Hora newspaper and the reviews of this journal faced with these actions versus the authoritarian regime. From these sources will be possible understand, at least partially, the political discussion in the society at time about the unprecedented, until 1979, educator's strikes.

Este artigo analisa as ações grevistas dos professores da educação pública estadual do Rio Grande do Sul, os quais definiram paralisações grevistas nos anos 1979, 1980 e 1982 na conjuntura de crise e esgotamento do regime militar brasileiro. É pretendido analisar o impacto social e político das greves dos educadores estaduais através do conteúdo editorial do jornal Zero Hora e as posições deste veículo ante as ações que questionavam o regime autoritário. A partir de tais fontes será possível perceber, ao menos em parte, o debate político presente na sociedade naquele momento sobre as inéditas - até 1979 - greves de educadores.
