Prejuicios y estereotipos en estudiantes de la Universidad de Nariño.

    En el presente artículo se dan a conocer los resultados cuantitativos obtenidos de la investigación de enfoque mixto denominada Prejuicios y estereotipos entre estudiantes de la Universidad de Nariño sede Pasto pertenecientes y no pertenecientes a comunidades afrocolombianas, indígenas y homosexuales y sus implicaciones en el contexto universitario, desarrollada durante los años 2009 a 20124. La investigación surge del análisis de antecedentes a nivel internacional, nacional y regional que evidencia las manifestaciones de discriminación de las que suelen ser receptoras las comunidades sujeto de estudio, así como el vacío en el conocimiento respecto a las variables psicosociales implicadas en esta situación, específicamente en relación a los prejuicios y estereotipos que las sustentan. En el componente cuantitativo se tuvo como objetivo analizar los prejuicios y estereotipos que se presentan entre estudiantes de la Universidad de Nariño Pertenecientes y No Pertenecientes a comunidades afrocolombianas, indígenas y homosexuales. Se desarrolló mediante un diseño de tipo no experimental transeccional-descriptivo, a través de la aplicación de una escala de actitudes a 85 estudiantes pertenecientes a las comunidades sujeto de estudio y 368 a estudiantes no pertenecientes a estas comunidades de las 11 Facultades de la Universidad de Nariño. Los resultados en cuanto a los Estudiantes No Pertenecientes indican que las Facultades de Ingeniería son las que presentan mayores resultados en prejuicios y estereotipos hacia las comunidades objeto de estudio, mientras que en las Facultades de Artes y Ciencias Humanas se observaron los puntajes más bajos; en relación al género se encontraron diferencias significativas siendo los hombres quienes presentan mayores prejuicios y estereotipos que las mujeres. En referencia a los resultados de los Estudiantes Pertenecientes hacia los Estudiantes que No Pertenecen a estas comunidades, se evidenció mayores puntajes por parte de los estudiantes afrocolombianos en prejuicios y estereotipos, principalmente en las mujeres.

    This article discloses the quantitative results of the investigation of mixed approach called "Prejudices and stereotypes about students of the Universidad de Nariño - Pasto belonging and not belonging to Afro-Colombian, indigenous and homosexuals and their implications in the university context", developed during the years 2009 to 2012. The investigation stems from the international, national and regional background analysis about manifestations of discrimination of that host communities are often the subject of study as well as the gap in knowledge regarding the psychosocial variables involved in this situation, specifically in relation to the prejudices and stereotypes that sustain them. In the quantitative component is aimed to analyze the prejudices and stereotypes that exist between students of the Universidad de Nariño belonging and not belonging to Afro-Colombian, indigenous and homosexuals. It was developed by a non-experimental design transeccional-descriptive, through the application of an attitude scale to 85 students belonging to the communities under study and 368 students outside these communities of 11 faculties of the Universidad de Nariño. The results in terms of students not belonging indicate that engineering schools are those with higher results in prejudices and stereotypes towards the communities under study, while in the Faculties of Arts and Humanities were observed lower scores, in Gender-related differences were found to men have more prejudices and stereotypes that women. Referring to the results of students belonging to the students from outside their communities evidenced higher scores by students of African descent about prejudices and stereotypes, mainly in women.
