El Colegio Mayor de San Bartolomé y Santiago, fundado a mediados del siglo XVII, aún continúa funcionando vivo como la residencia de universitarios más antigua de España y ocupando desde su origen un edificio de gran valor patrimonial. A la riqueza del conjunto se le une la existencia de un archivo poco conocido y esencial para la reconstrucción de la historia del propio Colegio Mayor pues recoge la vida colegial. Sus fondos han servido para la presente aportación sobre la interesante presencia en la institución de los varios colegiales norteafricanos que desde inicios del siglo XVIII se desplazaron hasta Granada para estudiar así en su Universidad.

The Colegio Mayor of San Bartolomé y Santiago, founded halfway through the XVII century, continues still today well alive functioning as the most ancient university residence of Spain, that occupies since its origins a building with a great heritage value. The wealth of the residential compound is joined by the existence of a poorly known archive, essential for the reconstruction of the history of the Colegio Mayor itself as it contains the collegiate life. Its contents have allowed the present contribution about the interesting presence on the institution of several north african students that since the beginning of the XVIII century move to Granada to study at its University.
