La hipoterapia: abordaje terapéutico de un caso y sus logros

    The objective of this case study was to determine what influence Hippotherapy as a therapeutic alternative method, accompanied by a comprehensive renovation, the development of a child with cerebral palsy. It also describes the hippotherapy as a treatment, a brief description of the most important aspects of cerebral palsy is and how it affects the development of children. A 4-year-old town of Corozal-Sucre diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy Athetoid (dyskinetic) was taken as a case. La descripción del estado de desarrollo de la niña al antes de la aplicación de la Hipoterapia y el actual, se hiso por medio de la evaluación de las cuatro áreas definidas por la Escala Abreviada de Desarrollo del Ministerio de Salud colombiano, adaptadas según la guía para la respuesta educativa a las necesidades del alumnado con Parálisis Cerebral, propuesta por el gobierno de Navarra- España. Para la documentación del caso se utilizó la observación y valoración de las cuatro áreas de desarrollo, complementada con la revisión de la historia clínica, el examen físico de la niña, entrevista al equipo terapéutico y a los padres. Se evidenció un gran avance en el desarrollo en todas las áreas, especialmente en el área motora gruesa, lo que confirma que en este caso, la Hipoterapia como terapéutica, acompañada de rehabilitación interdisciplinaria, impacto positivamente las alteraciones presentadas inicialmente por la niña, aumentando cada vez más su nivel de independencia en la realización de las actividades de la vida diaria.

    The objective of this case study was to determine what influence Hippotherapy as therapeutic alternative in the development of children with cerebral palsy. It also describes the hippotherapy as a treatment, a brief description of the most important aspects of cerebral palsy and how it influences in the development of children. A case was a 4-year-old town of Corozal-Sucre diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy Athetoid (dyskinetic). The description of the state of development of the child to the prior application of Hippotherapy and current hiso through the evaluation of the four areas defined by the Abbreviated Scale Development Colombian Ministry of Health, adapted as the guide for response to the educational needs of students with cerebral palsy, given by the government of Navarra, Spain. For documentation of the case observation and assessment of the four areas of development, complemented by review of the clinical history, physical examination of the child, interview the treating team and parents was used. A breakthrough in the development in all areas, especially in the gross motor area, confirming that in this case, hippotherapy and therapeutic accompanied by interdisciplinary rehabilitation, alterations positively impact initially presented by the child, evidenced by increasing each again the level of independence in performing activities of daily living.
