Resumen de Estimar la comprension de los prospectos de los medicamentos

  • The justification for the study is given by the importance of the comprehension of prospects in therapeutic utilization and accomplishment. Within this context, the study pretends to favor the therapeutic accomplishment through the improvement in the comprehension of written messages in drugs prospects. The objective is to value the comprehensibility of written messages in drugs prospects destined to the general population. Material and method: The material used have been the most prescribed drugs prospects by the physician and the most dispensed ones by the pharmacist and, because of that, the most frequent in the first-aid kits and the most used by the general population. There has been evaluated a total of 270 prospects, classified and distributed according to the 14 established therapeutic groups. The indicator being used in the SMOG Index. This one is an index utilized for estimating the comprehensibility of written messages; this is to say that the index evaluates the capacity of text comprehension by the receptor. Because of that, it estimates in an indirect manner the difficulty of interpreting, understanding and comprehending whatever is read in a specific text. Results: The results of the study show that the majority of drugs prespects being evaluated obtain an average SMOG score of 18. The therapeutic groups with the lowest and the highest SMOG scores are respectively the B (blood and hematopoietic organs) with 17.1 and the L (antineoplastic therapy) with an average of 19.6. Conclusion: The obtained SMOG score is considered adequate for facilitating the comprehension of drugs prospects by the general population. However, there exist aspects that must be improved
