Medallas francesas y belgas de homenaje a algunas personas relacionadas con la minería, que llevaron a cabo su labor también en España

    Tercio del siglo XX, hay algunos relacionados con la minería española. Charles Ledoux fue unos de los fundadores de la ?Sociedad Peñarroya?, una de las mayores empresas de minería y metalurgia del plomo, plata y cinc en España, Alexandre Pourcel y Adolphe Greiner participaron en el diseño y puesta en marcha de las principales plantas siderúrgicas de Vizcaya, y Charles Barrois realizó un estudió fundamental de los terrenos del Paleozoico de Asturias. Estas medallas, realizadas en el estilo propio de la época, representan, además de una expresión artística, un importante testimonio de historia minera.

    Among the persons in whose honor different French and Belgian societies emitted medals in the first third of the XXth century, there are some also related to the Spanish mining. Charles Ledoux was one of the founders of the “Peñarroya Society“, one of the greater companies of lead, silver and zinc mining and metallurgy in Spain, Alexandre Pourcel and Adolphe Greiner participated in the design and running of the main iron and steel plants of Biscay, and Charles Barrois published a fundamental work about the Paleozoic of Asturias. These medals, made in the style of their time, represent, in addition to an artistic expression, an important testimony of mining history.
