Resumen de Melibea: eje de la scriptum ligata de La Celestina

A través de esta investigación, se estudia el personaje de Melibea desde una perspectiva que, más allá del contenido textual, privilegia la estructura formal de la Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea de Fernando de Rojas a través de la simbología profunda y las metáforas principales del texto propuestas originalmente por Alan Deyermond: el hilado, el cordón y la cadena. Además, se examina la relación de este actante con las imágenes serpentinas y con el caos del que parte el autor desde el Prólogo, para comparar su importancia en el tejido del texto con la de la figura de la alcahueta, Celestina. Así pues, Melibea se identifica como la legítima protagonista de la obra, y como eje de la urdimbre misma del texto rojano.

Through this investigation, Melibea�s character is studied from a perspective that, beyond the textual content, privileges the formal structure of Fernando de Rojas� Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea through the profound system of symbols, and the principal metaphors of the text originally proposed by Alan Deyermond: the yarn, the girdle, and the chain. Also, the relation of this actant is examined with serpentine imagery and with chaos, the same chaos from which the author departs in the Prologue, to compare her importance in the weave of the text with that of the figure of the procuress, Celestina. Thus, Melibea is identified as the legitimate protagonist of the work, and as the axis of the text�s warp itself.
