Resumen de Note about two morphs of Preodontochile batalleri (Hernández, 1944) from Llandovery (Silurian) of Camprodon (Girona, Eastern Spanish Pyrenees.

Joan Antoni Vela

  • Two different morphs are recognized among the samples of Predontochile batalleri Hernández, 1944, collected in the Llandoverian outcrops of Camprodon (Girona-NE Spain). Morph A bears a long spine in pygidium and a more oval-shaped cephalon; morph B has a pygidium with very short spine and a more rectangular cephalon. It is argued that they represent two different subspecies sharing the same taphocenosys. Morph A is assingned to P. Batalleri batalleri (Hernández, 1944) and morph B to P. Batalleri camprodonensis (Degardin & Pillet, 1983)
