Resumen de SAMAST: instrumento para la sostenibilidad turística

  El número de personas mayores y con discapacidad está aumentando significativamente en Europa y las previsiones revelan una tendencia creciente. Esta situación es un reto para el sector turístico que debe adaptar su oferta si quiere mantenerse y crecer en el mercado.

  Con este propósito, el Instituto de Investigación Polibienestar está llevando a cabo el proyecto SOCIALTOURISM en el que ha desarrollado el Modelo de Auto-Evaluación del Turismo Social Accesible que ha integrado en la plataforma SOCIALTOURISM. Este modelo permite a las empresas turísticas auto-evaluar su grado de accesibilidad, detectar los elementos a cambiar y conocer la correcta forma de adaptar sus instalaciones en base a criterios de diseño universal y considerando diferentes tipos de discapacidad.

  The number of disabled and elderly people is increasing significantly in Europe and the projections reveal a growing trend. This situation is a challenge for the tourism sector that should adapt their infrastructures and services in order to respond to this relevant market share and to maintain them selves and grow in the market.

  With this purpose, the Polibienestar Research Institute is executing the project SOCIALTOURISM in which the Self-Assessment Model of Accessible Social Tourism integrated in the online SOCIALTOURISM platform has been developed. It allows all tourism entities to self-evaluate their grade of accessibility, detect their shortfalls and know the correct way to change considering the universal design and different kinds of disability
