    Este artículo indaga, en los testimonios de las polémicas sobre el Nuevo Mundo, qué significaron para la moral hispano-cristiana los pecados de la carne atribuidos a los aborígenes americanos, a fin de contribuir a la mejor comprensión de los documentos escritos de los primeros colonizadores y, con ello, a su mentalidad e interpretación de la realidad.

    Based on the testimonies of the first polemics about the New World, this article delves into what the sins of the flesh attributed to the American aborigines meant to Spanish-Christian morals, in order to contribute to a better understanding of the written documents of the first colonizers, and hence, to their mentality and interpretation of the reality.
