Dentro de la identidad cultural de los pueblos, el conjunto de creencias y de expresiones religiosas constituye una de las formas de expresión de la dimensión religiosa de los miembros, sean estos clanes, tribus o sociedades. Por ello, tratar de comprender cómo los Estados llegan, a través de su historia, a la comprensión de la libertad religiosa y a la garantía de éste derecho fundamental, es partir de las expresiones elementales de religiosidad, pasando por la institucionalidad de las religiones y el reconocimiento de las de cosmovisiones religiosas y seculares, para consolidar la juridicidad de la libertad religiosa, desde los principios constitucionales de libertad, pluralidad y tolerancia.
Within the cultural identity of the people, the set of beliefs and religious expressions constitute one of the form expressions of the religious dimension from the members, whether these are clans, tribes or societies. Therefore, by trying to understand how the any State become, through its history, to the understanding of its religious freedom and to ensure this fundamental right, this starts from elemental expressions of religiosity, passing through the religion institutions and recognition of religious and secular worldviews, to consolidate the law for religious freedom, beginning from the constitutional principles of freedom, pluralism and tolerance.
