Este trabajo consiste en una lectura comparada de la literatura escrita por judíos y árabes en Chile (los inmigrantes y su descendencia) en torno a su experiencia. Si los relatos árabes se presentan como una gran saga familiar que celebra un destino (Chile, la nueva casa), los relatos judaicos se dedican a rememorar un origen que se ve amenazado, concibiéndose como genealogías diaspóricas. En ambas literaturas se reflexiona sobre el prejuicio y la alteridad, proponiéndose nuevos espacios de acogida, distintos de los originales y recreándose imágenes híbridas culturales que conmueven una identidad chilena sentida como fija y monovalente.

This work consists in the comparative reading of Chilean literature written by Jews and Arabs in Chile (the immigrants and their descendants) regarding their experiences. On the one hand, Arabic tales recount the family saga celebrating Chile as a definite destiny (as the new home), and on the other hand, Jewish tales deal with the remembrance of origins, by composing diasporic genealogies. Both writings refer to prejudice and otherness, proposing new roots, and generating hybrid cultural images that challenge the fixed and homogeneous Chilean identity
