    En este artículo vamos a abordar cómo se llevó a cabo el proyecto republicano de la nación cívica en la escuela, analizando las prácticas simbólicas más visibles, a través de las cuales descubriremos la fortaleza y coherencia de este proyecto, pero también sus inconsistencias y contradicciones. En segundo término, nos acercaremos a las interpretaciones que maestros y niños hicieron de estas prácticas, con las que dejaron entrever sus diferentes visiones de España. Finalmente, veremos cómo desde el modelo de nación cívica algunos maestros españoles quisieron retomar el modelo de la nación étnica, utilizando para ello el discurso del hispanismo.

    In this article we will explore how the Republican project of the civic nation was implemented from the school, by analysing its most visible symbolic practices. The study of these practices will allow us to discover the strength and coherence of this project, but also its inconsistencies and contradictions. In second term, we will turn to the interpretations that schoolteachers and children have done of these practices, that reflected their different visions of Spain. Finally we will study how some Spanish schoolteachers wanted to revive the model of the ethnic nation from the model of civic nation, using for this purpose the discourse of hispanism.
