    La autora aborda la reciente aprobación del Tratado de Lisboa mediante el que se reforman los Tratados de la Unión Europea y de la Comunidad Europea, atendiendo a los problemas políticos de esta nueva etapa de la Unión tras el fracaso de la Constitución Europea, al método seguido para esta nueva reforma, y al contenido de este nuevo Tratado: principalmente, reformas institucionales y posición de los órganos de la Unión, escoramiento intergubernamental, sistema de votaciones, subsidiariedad, y carta de derechos.

    The Author analyses the newly approved Lisbon Treaty that amends the previous treaties of the European communities and of the European Union. In particular, she focuses on the political issues that this new step, following the failure of the European Constitution, gives rise to. Moreover, she addresses the methodology followed to find a compromise and, in conclusion, describes the content of the new Treaty. The latter mainly regards the institutional structure of the EU, the powers of EU bodies, the intergovernmental method, the voting system, subsidiarity and the Charter of rights.
