Resumen de Dos lecturas sociológias actuales de Las formas elementales de la vida religiosa

Desde el año de su publicación en 1912, Las formas elementales de la vida religiosa fue objeto de un intenso debate interpretativo, primero en el ámbito de la misma sociología y, después, más allá, repercutiendo sobre todo en la antropología. Durante los cien años de historia de la publicación del libro, esta intensidad pareció disminuir. El objeto de este artículo es analizar cómo es que hoy ha resurgido con gran fuerza este conflicto, exponiendo y examinando dos lecturas actuales. Una es la que desde el pragmatismo ha hecho Hans Joas. Otra es la que desde la etnometodología propone Anne W. Rawls. Dos lecturas que tienen en común su oposición y rechazo a la lectura parsoniana, pero que divergen en aquello que ponen como centro conceptual renovador de Las formas. El artículo se propone hacer un examen comparado de estas dos lecturas actuales, mediante un balance de sus alcances y límites respectivos.

Durkheim�s book The Elementary Forms of Religious Life were first time published in 1912. Since then, it was matter of an intensive understanding debate, first among sociologists, after, beyond, among anthropologists.
Along the last one hundred years from its first edition, the debate seems has been diminished. Why can we observe nowadays the revival of that intensive debate? The aim of this paper is answer that question through the reading of two recent interpretations. In one hand, the approach of Hans Joas, in the other hand, the Anne Rawls one. Both of them are opposed to the Talcott Parson�s reading of the centenarian Durkheim´s book. In the other side, the recent interpretations of Joas and Rawls, are both opposed between them because of the element of the Durkheim�s book each one brings out as innovative is different form the other. The purpose of this work is to make an appraisal of both approaches by making a comparison of their achievements and their limitations.
