Resumen de Veneno mortal para la juventud: público y censura ante las pecadoras penitentes de la comedia nueva

Este trabajo revisa las recreaciones dramáticas del subtipo hagiográfico de la vida licenciosa femenina realizadas por diversos dramaturgos españoles durante el siglo XVII, para valorarlas, primordialmente, en función de la recepción. Para ello, se contrasta el notable éxito popular que tuvieron algunas de las piezas con la reacción condenatoria de moralistas y censores, tanto en su época como años después de su concepción. Se analizan los diferentes argumentos aducidos, teniendo en cuenta los cambios de actitud acarreados por los cambios contextuales y valorando la importancia de la recepción teatral como índice de la historia sociocultural de todo un pueblo

This work analyses seventeenth-century Spanish dramatic renditions of the hagiographical subtype of feminine licentious life, mainly regarding its reception. With this aim, it contrasts the notable popular success gained by some of the works with the condemnatory reaction of moralists and censors, both at the time these works were written and afterwards. The different arguments that arose are analysed, taking into consideration the changes in attitude caused by contextual changes and measuring the importance of the reception of theatrical works as an index of the social and cultural history of an entire population
