  • The research undertaken by the authors of this article intends to show the distinction between historical novel and historiography. They propose that the distinction may be found in the conditions that both texts have to fulfill (social, traditional, institutional and epistemological exigencies). The later is exposed in three chapters. 1) The place of novel in relationship with historiography. 2) Arguments that support the possibility of proving the historiographical knowledge. 3) The comparison of two historical novels and a historiography book.
