El acceso a la información pública posibilita a las personas opinar y participar con datos concretos, es decir, con conocimiento y veracidad, contribuyendo al debate público que es garantía esencial del sistema democrático.
En el marco del derecho al acceso a la información y la difusión de las sentencias judiciales, es que la CSJN decide crear un Centro de Información Judicial (CIJ).
Por su parte, la Cámara Federal de Apelaciones de Córdoba, a través del Acuerdo 187/2007, crea la Oficina de Prensa y Ceremonial, con objetivos compartidos con el CIJ de la CSJN.
Con la creación del CIJ y en el caso particular de Córdoba a través de la Oficina de Prensa, los medios de comunicación acceden con más facilidad e inmediatez a la información judicial de los fallos y resoluciones del Poder Judicial de todo el país
