Mariñanos en América: unha aproximación ás sociedades de instrución da Mariña Luguesa, ca. 1900-1940

    O obxectivo desde artigo é trazar unha evolución das sociedades de instrucción mariñas, na que quizais pesen máis as ausencias que as presenzas debido, por un lado, á cativeza das fontes empregadas e, polo outro, a que aínda nos atopamos nunha fase de inicio das nosas pescudas, pero que abonda para amosar a vida societaria destas entidades microterritoriais bonaerenses, que foran refuxio da colectividade emigrante pero que a partir de mediados dos anos trinta de século XX esmorecían debido á falta de corrente inmigratoria que nutría estes organismos con xuventude sempre renovada. Coa creación dos centros galegos, a súa finalidade mutualista foi perdendo importancia mentres que as súas obras cultural e recreativa xa non satisfacían as aspiracións dos seus membros. Os cadros dirixentes máis avezados buscaron a solución na unión da colectividade lucense nun único organismo: o Centro Lucense, para acabar así co minifundismo social que atomizaba o esforzó dos emigrantes galegos.

    The aim of this article is to trace the evolution of the A Mariña�s emigrants� mutual-aid associations in America, which perhaps place more importance on what is missing rather than what there is owing to, on the one hand, the few sources that were at disposal and, on the other, the fact that we are still at an initial stage of our research. However, it is sufficient to show the social life of these micro-territorial institutions in Buenos Aires, which offered shelter for the emigrant collective, but which, as from the 1930s,ran down as a result of the lack of immigration to supply these organisations with renewed youth. With the creation of Galician centres, the importance of the mutualist purpose was gradually lost, whereas their leisure and cultural activities no longer satisfied the demands of their members. The most experienced leaders looked for the solution by bringing together the Lugo collective under one single roof:

    the Centro Lucense, which put an end to the social fragmentation that dispersed the efforts of Galician emigrants.
