No fue insignificante el papel del Cabildo catedralicio en el adocenado ambiente cultural de la Córdoba ochocentista, aunque transcurrieran bastantes años hasta poder advertir una presencia importante del clero capitular en el mundo de las publicaciones periódicas. Así, por ejemplo, durante el Sexenio Democrático, algunos de sus más conspicuos miembros asumieron las tareas directivas y colaboraron en un nuevo tipo de prensa confesional, apologética y combativa.

Joumalistic activity of the Córdoba capitúlate clergy during the XIXth century: The role of the Cathedral Chapter in the dormant cultural ambient of XIXth century Córdoba was by no means insignificant, although a quite a few years had elapsed until the presence of the capitúlate clergy in periodical publications had become of some significance. So,for instance, during the Democratic Six Years Period (Sexenio Democrático) some of its most conspicuous members took the lead and collaborated in a new lype of militant, apologetic and confessional press.
