    The burgus-like fortlet of Gasr Wames belongs to the section of the limes Tripolitanus referred to as lines Tentheitanus in a building-inscription, dated to 246 / 247, found in the nearby centenarium of Gasr Duib in upper Wadi Sofeggin. In addition to specific architectural characteristics such as the (look-out) tower above the entrance and the flat roof with crenellated paraper, the use of the individual rooms and the garrison strength are discussed, as well as the dating of the surrounding wall and a possible use in the 4th and 5th century in comparison witch the slighthly larger Gasr Duib

    Le fort de Gast Wames, une sorte de burgus, se situe sur un tronçon di limes Tripolitanus, qui est mentionné comme limes tentheitanus dans une inscriptions de 246 / 47, trouvée non loin dans le centenarium de Gast Duib sur le cours supérierur du Ouadi Sofeggin. Outre les caractéristiques liées au type de construction (tour de guet au-desus de l'entrée et toir plat à parapet crénelé), cet article discute l'utilisation des différentes pièces, l'affectif de la troupe, la dotation du rempart ainsi qu'une utilisation éventuelle au 4º et début 5º siècle, en comparaison avec le Gasr Duib légèrement plus grand.

    Die burgusartige Kleinfestung Gasr Wames gehört zu dem Abschnitt des limes Tripolitanus, der in der 246 / 247 datierten Bauinschrift des nahe gelegenen centenarium von Gasr Duib im oberen Wadi Sofeggin als limes Tentheitanus bezeichnet wird. Neben den bautypspezifischen Charakteristika wie des (Aussichts-)Turms über dem Eingang und dem Flachdach mit zinnenbewehrter Mauerbrüstung wird die Verwendung der einzelnen Räume und die Mannschaftsstärke ebenso wie die zeitliche Stellung der Umfassungsmauer und eine mögliche Nutzung noch im 4. und frühen 5. Jahrhundert ¿ im Vergleich mit dem etwas grösseren Gasr Duib ¿ diskutiert.
