    The activity of fishing represents one of the social material and symbolic dimensions of historical constitution of rural societies in the Amazon. This study presents the representative dimensions of fishing in a region located by the Solimões River (Amazonas), showing, through an incursion into the fishing labor world, the production of fishing social territories as social cosmographies and its capacity of reproducing the perceptions about the living world through activities between commercial fishing and subsistence fishing in the management of natural resources. The use of identified fishing territories represents the conflicts and social relations of the production implemented in the fishery by the introduction of technologies that mark the advent of the capitalist mode of production in the Brazilian Amazon.

    A atividade da pesca representa uma das dimensões sociais materiais e simbólicas da constituição histórica das sociedades rurais amazônicas. Este estudo apresenta as dimensões representativas da pesca numa região localizada no Rio Solimões (Manacapuru/AM), demonstrando uma incursão no mundo do trabalho da pesca, e na produção dos territórios sociais pesqueiros enquanto cosmografias, que demonstram a capacidade de reprodução das percepções sobre o mundo vivido através de atividades realizadas entre a pesca comercial e a pesca de subsistência na gestão dos recursos naturais. O uso dos ambientes identificados como territórios pesqueiros entre os trabalhadores da pesca possui um modo particular e significativo da representação dos conflitos e das relações sociais de produção implementadas na pesca através da inserção de tecnologias que marcam o advento do modo de produção capitalista na Amazônia brasileira.
