    Desde los orígenes del país, el sistema político colombiano se ha caracterizado por la coexistencia de elementos tradicionales y modernos. Además, la violencia es una constante en la historia política colombiana, desde las guerras civiles del siglo XIX hasta el conflicto actual con las organizaciones armadas. Partiendo de estos antecedentes, el artículo analiza la particular coyuntura política que atraviesa el país, marcada por el fin del periodo uribista y el comienzo del gobierno de Juan Manuel Santos: las perspectivas, hasta ahora, son más positivas que negativas.

    Since the country�s origins, Colombia�s political system has been characterised by the coexistence of traditional and modern elements. Additionally, violence is a constant in Colombia�s political history, from the civil wars of the 19th century to the current conflict with armed organizations. Leaving off from these roots, the article analyzes the special political moment which crosses the country, marked by the end of the Uribe period and the start of the government of Juan Manuel Santos: the perspectives, until now, are more positive than negative.
