La producción histórica sobre la contemporanidad extremeña a finales del novecientos y comienzos del siglo XXI

    En el transcurso del último cuarto del novecientos y la primera década de este siglo XXI la producción histórica extremeña ha mostrado, en términos cuantitativos, una notable y creciente vitalidad. Pero también se ha singularizado por una fuerte dispersión e, incluso, una incuestionable atomización temática, un avance extraordinario del interés por los asuntos locales, la elaboración de numerosos estudios sin ceñirse a un plan bien elaborado de trabajo o, tras la crisis sufrida por las grandes corrientes historiográficas en vigor durante la segunda mitad de la pasada centuria, especialmente el materialismo histórico, una fragmentación intensa de los problemas objeto de análisis y, en última instancia, un debilitamiento muy acusado del papel correspondiente al análisis histórico en el discurso político.

    Over the course of the final quarter of the XX� century and the first decade of the XXIS� century, the historical production in Extremadura has experienced, in quantitative terms, a growing vitality. However, it has also been characterized by a strong dispersion or even an undeniable variation of topics, a greater interests for local affairs, the elaboration of many studies without any previously designed work plans or, alter the crisis suffered by the biggest historiography trends during the second half of the last century, especially the historical materialism, an intense fragmentation of the problems which were analyzed and, finally, a great weakning of the role of the historical analysis in political speech.
