    Las modificaciones en los trazados y en los firmes de los caminos han sido una constante en el desarrollo histórico de estas obras de ingeniería. Como elementos de nuestro patrimonio cultural en constante riesgo ya que son elementos “vivos” en nuestro entorno, su estudio y su evolución en el tiempo son objeto prioritario para el conocimiento de las redes viarias. La calzada puesta al descubierto en Galdakao, cuyas tipologías nos hablan de una evolución entre los s.XVI al XVIII del camino de Durango a Bilbao es un claro ejemplo de ello.

    Throughout history there have been changes in the routes taken by roads and the surfaces used on them. As elements of our cultural heritage they are at constant risk, as they are “living” features of the environment, so studying roads and their development over time is a priority objective in getting to know road networks. A case in point is the road that has come to light in Galdakao, whose characteristics suggest that it was part of the development of the road between Durango and Bilbao in the 16th – 18th centuries.

    Ingeniaritza obra hauen garapen historikoan, beti aldatu dira bideen trazatuak eta lurzoruak. Gure ondare kulturaleko elementu horiek beti daude arriskuan, “bizirik” baitaude gure ingurunean eta, beraz, bide-sareei buruzko jakintzan sakondu nahi bada, lehentasuna eman behar zaio elementu horien ikerketari eta denboran izan duten bilakaera ezagutzeari. Galdakaon azaleratu berri duten galtzada dugu horren adibide argiena, zeinaren tipologia aztertuta, Durangotik Bilborako bideak XVI. mendetik XVII.era izan duen bilakaera ikus baitezakegu.
