Since Islam was known in medieval Europe, there was a great interest in the philosophy developed in the Arabic world. After the initial contacts with that philosophy took place in the Iberian Peninsula in medieval centuries, we had to wait until the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries for the studies in Arabic philosophy to reemerge in Spain. Here is a review of the major contributions made by Spanish scholars throughout the twentieth century and the first decade of the following century.
