Resumen de El "espesor escritural" en dos cuentos de Roberto Bolaño: "Últimos atardeceres en la tierra" y "Dentista"

  Estimo la categoría "espesor escritural" como rasgo distintivo de muchos textos de Bolaño y explicativo del peculiar efecto que dichos textos suscitan. Entiendo por tal la proliferación de significados -no de significantes, como en el caso del texto escribible- los que se combinan, juegan entre sí y atrapan al lector. A través de mi análisis se advertirá cómo se plasma dicho efecto en los dos relatos de Bolaño que analizaré: "Ultimos atardeceres en la tierra" y "Dentista". Me centraré para ello en ciertos núcleos estructurales de los cuales emergen los significados: 1) Los títulos y su proyección. Inicio del relato; 2) Finales; 3) La isotopía literaria y su entrelazamiento con la trama; 4) Momentos analépticos, en ocasiones fundados en asociaciones, relatos oníricos y otras isotopías semánticas que añaden nuevas dimensiones al relato.

  I consider "narrative denseness" is both a distinctive trait in many texts by Roberto Bolaño and the underlying cause of the particular effect they engender. I define this quality as a proliferation of signifieds -as opposed to signifiers, whose multiplicity is an atribute of the writeable text-, which combine and play with each other, and ultimately seize the reader. My investigation centers on how this attribute materializes in two short stories by Roberto Bolaño: "Últimos atardeceres en la tierra" and "Dentista", and to that purpose I will focus on certain structural nucleuses from which the signifieds stem: 1) Titles and their projection, 2) Endings; 3) Literary isotopy and how it intertwines with the plot, 4) Analeptic moments, sometimes based on associations, oneiric recounts and other semantic isotopies which add new dimensions to the text.
