Objectives: To explain what is a bacterium, which is an antibiotic, which has been on antibiotics in human history and why it is essential a proper use. Methodology: two undercover agents explain the relative size of the bacteria withnflash animations, videos of growing bacteria that also explode with penicillin. In the play there are two games: the game of the bubbles and the “broken telephone” game. The soap bubbles allow us to explain what the “horizontal transmission” in bacteria. Taking antibiotic is represented by soap bubbles coming out of a machine. Volunteers participating in the game carry globoflexia balloons representing the beta-lactamases. The broken telephone game allows us to explain how the information is modified by mutation over generations. we say a sentence to the first spectator who has to pass to the next guy. These statements are entered into a computer program that shows how changes in the sentences cause changes in the three-dimensional structure of proteins targeted by antibiotics. Finally, it is a little satire on the misuse of antibiotics. The play ends with a final rap. Participants of the games were gifted with t-shirts with the logo of the play. Leaflets were distributed with information about bacteria and antibiotics.
