En este artículo nos acercamos al estudio de las estrategias y mecanismos argumentativos empleados por Zapatero y Rajoy en el debate que celebraron en televisión en 2008. Lo habitual en él es el enfrentamiento, la destrucción de las tesis del contrario, atacando su imagen, de forma agresiva a veces. Uno de los mecanismos empleados es la subjetividad (modalidad, enunciación) o incluso el utilizar un registro informal como modo de acercamiento al votante medio. Los finales de intervención se convierten en lugares de transición preferida (LTP: para introducir nuevos temas y obligar al otro a tratarlos) y lugares de argumentación relevante (LAR: se incluye aquí la información de mayor fuerza argumentativa) Palabras clave: debate político, pragmática, argumentación

In this article, we study the argumentative strategies and mechanisms used by Zapatero and Rajoy in the debate that they celebrated in television in 2008. In this text, the norm is the confrontation, the destruction of the opponent arguments, attacking his social face, sometimes aggressively. They frequently use the subjectivity (modality, enunciation) or even an informal register as a means of approaching to the voter. The intervention ends are used as places of favourite transition (LTP: to introduce new topics and to force the other to treat them) and places of relevant argumentation (LAR: the information with more argumentative force is included here).
