Resumen de Cognocentrismo, experiencia y experimentación en la neurociencia social

Roberto Emmanuele Mercadillo Caballero

  • Neuroscientists have researched social and moral cognition based on neuroimaging experimental parameters in recent years, which make possible the construction of standardized designs in addition to quantitative and comparative analysis of brain activity between individuals holding different cultures. Social cognition conceives the individual's experience as the teller of processed information. Even if phenomenological approaches have manifested the analysis of the experience, the methodological insertion of these proposes into the cognitive neuroscience have represented a difficult issue. The concept of cognocentrism presented in this work is discussed as the tendency to interpret the neurocognitive experimental results with no consideration to the assessed subject's experience. Some propositions to include the analysis of experience in social neuroscience are given here, derived from empirical reports and methodological schemes. Particularly, it proposes to engage in a carefull yet agile use of concepts, the psicosocial recruitment of human samples and the interdisciplinary, and methodological interaction.
