¿Somos más móviles? Nuevas evidencias sobre la movilidad intergeneracional de clase en España en la segunda mitad del siglo XX

    Este artículo presenta los resultados de un trabajo de investigación sobre los patrones de movilidad social relativa en España a lo largo de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Los datos aquí pertenecen a la Encuesta de Condiciones de Vida (2005) del INE. Hasta ahora, este material no ha sido utilizado en ninguna investigación reciente sobre la movilidad social en España y nos aporta nuevos datos sobre la última década del siglo XX. Se aplican los modelos de fluidez social elaborados por Robert Erikson y John H. Goldthorpe en The Constant Flux (1992). En resumen, el presente estudio confirma que el grado de fluidez en la sociedad española se ha mantenido constante durante este periodo y que la pauta de fluidez central para los países europeos se ajusta bien al caso español. No obstante, este régimen de movilidad presenta algunas particularidades que son fruto de las características propias de nuestra estructura social y económica.

    This paper shows the results of a research project on relative social mobility patterns in Spain during the second half of the 20th century.The data were collected by the Spanish National Statistics Institute for the Survey of Incomes and Living Conditions (2005). This empirical material has not been used previously and it provides new data about the last decade of the 20th century. The social fluidity models created by Erikson and Goldthorpe in The Constant Flux (1992) have been applied. In short, this paper confirms that the rates of the social fluidity remain invariant during this period and that the patterns of core social fluidity for European countries closely match the Spanish case. Nevertheless, this mobility regime has certain particularities resulting from the characteristics of Spain?s social and economic structure.
