La Red Historia y Patrimonio Cultural de la Salud tiene por objetivos la identificación, recuperación, preservación, valorización y difusión del patrimonio histórico, documental, cultural, museológico y arquitectónico de la salud en Argentina desde el portal de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud - Historia y Patrimonio Cultural de la Salud. Éstos se basan en un modelo de cooperación técnica que asegure la sustentabilidad de una red de fuentes y flujos de información tratados como bienes públicos. Se trata de una red cooperativa construida colectivamente. El modelo BVS abrió caminos y demandas para la cooperación �Sur-Sur� con otras regiones en desarrollo, por medio de la colaboración con redes científicas y técnicas en salud. Como bibliotecólogos, gestores de información, es parte de nuestra misión ser custodios del patrimonio histórico cultural. La Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS) representa una estrategia regional y global para el acceso abierto y equitativo a la información y el conocimiento científico.

The Argentine history and cultural heritage health network has as objectives the identification, recovery, preservation, valuation and diffusion of the historical, documentary, cultural, museological and architectural health heritage in Argentina. This is possible due to the virtual health library �history and cultural heritage of health� that is based on technical cooperation to support information sources that are treated as public resources. It is a cooperative network built collectively. The BVS (Health Virtual Library) model opened pathways and demand for �south-south� cooperation with other developing regions through scientific and technical health networks. Librarians, who are in charge of the information management, have the mission to be the historical and cultural heritage custodians. The BVS represents a global and regional strategy to achieve open and egalitarian access to information and scientific knowledge.
