Hace cincuenta años se inventó el láser y desde entonces la tecnología láser ha estado desarrollándose constantemente. La aparición de este dispositivo provocó una revolución en la instrumentación científica y tecnológica causando un fuerte impacto en nuestra forma de vivir. Hoy en día hay una gran variedad de tipos de láser que se emplean con múltiples propósitos y sus aplicaciones abarcan una enorme cantidad de las diferentes áreas del quehacer humano.
La investigación sobre la tecnología láser continúa y seguramente en el futuro tendremos nuevas aplicaciones.

Fifty years ago the Laser was invented and since then the laser technology has been developing permanently. The achievement of the laser beam triggered an impressive technological revolution in the scientific instrumentation having a direct impact in the way we live. Nowadays a huge diversity of laser devices are used with distinct purposes embracing a lot of fields of the human activities.
The research on laser technology is developing every day and surely we will see in the future new applications of lasers.
