    El presente trabajo muestra los resultados derivados de una investigación subvencionada por la Dirección General de Seguridad y Salud Laboral, órgano institucional perteneciente a la Consejería de Empleo de la Junta de Andalucía. El análisis que llevamos a cabo se centra prioritariamente en el profesorado que forma parte de niveles de Infantil, Primaria y Secundaria Obligatoria de Andalucía. Nos interesa, averiguar la situación actual de las instituciones educativas en materia de seguridad y salud laboral, establecer mecanismos que orienten una actuación didáctica y organizativa que facilite el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de una cultura preventiva y extraer elementos básicos para adquirir formación en materia de seguridad y salud. Para ello, se ha desarrollado un análisis de datos cuantitativo de carácter descriptivo e inferencial. Todo ello, ha permitido conocer la realidad de la cultura de prevención de riesgos laborales en los centros escolares, aspecto que es de especial importancia ya que así se manifiesta en la Estrategia Española de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (2007-2012) y en el I Plan Andaluz de Salud Laboral y Prevención de Riesgos Laborales del personal docente de los centros públicos.

    This paper shows the outcomes of a research study funded by the Department of Health and Safety at Work (Department of Employment of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia). The analysis we conducted focused mainly on teachers of Pre-school, Primary and Secondary Education in Andalusia. Our main aims were to find out about the current status of education institutions; to establish mechanisms to direct educational action and organization which facilitate the teaching-learning process bearing in mind prevention; and to withdraw key elements that allow training on health and safety issues. We carried out a quantitative analysis of a descriptive and inferential nature. This allowed us to learn more about the reality of preventive habits on health and safety at schools, which is of paramount importance because it is highlighted in the Spanish Strategy on Health and Safety at Work (2007-2012) adopted in a meeting on 26th June 2007 by the Council of Ministers. It is also mentioned in the First Andalusian Plan on Health and Safety at work for teachers in state schools dependent on the Department of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia (2006-2010).
