  Este informe da a conocer los resultados obtenidos en la intervención arqueológica realizada en 1998 con motivo de obras de emergencia en la Porta Libitinensis del Anfiteatro de Itálica. El estudio de los sedimentos y el hallazgo de varios frag- mentos de piedra de Tarifa han permitido el planteamiento de una hipótesis acerca del abandono del edificio y sobre la configura- ción formal y material del podium y de las gradas del Anfiteatro.

  This report makes known the results obtained in the archaeologic research carried out in 1998 on the occasion the emergency works in the Porta Libitinensis of Italica’s Amphitheatre. The study of the sediments and the several fragments of Tarifa stone have allowed to establish a hypothesis about abandon of the building and above the formal aspect and material of the podium and Amphitheatre’s tiers.
