    En este artículo se analizan, desde la perspectiva de la Historia de la Cultura Escrita, un total de 28 autobiografías, memorias y diarios escritos por maestros y maestras en España durante los siglos xix al xxi. Primero se define el campo de estudio y los tipos de textos que se incluyen o excluyen del análisis realizado. Después se expone la distribución en el tiempo y por sexos de los 28 ego-documentos objeto de estudio y sus distintas modalidades en función del contenido, estructura y técnicas narrativas. Seguidamente se destaca el hecho de que sus autores hayan sido o sean, por lo general, escritores que se desenvuelven a sus anchas en el mundo de la cultura escrita. Por último, se exponen y analizan los motivos, explícitos o implícitos, que les llevaron, en cada caso, a redactar y publicar sus autobiografías, memorias o diarios.

    In this article 28 autobiographies, memoirs and diaries, written by Spanish schoolteachers from the 19th to 21st centuries, are analyzed from the perspective of the written culture. First, the field of study is defined, and the type of texts included in or excluded from analysis is specified. Presented next are the chronological and gender distribution of the 28 egodocuments studied, as well as the different modalities regarding theirs contents, structure, and narrative techniques. Then, the fact that their authors had been, or still are, writers who feel comfortable with written culture is highlighted. Finally, the reasons, explicit or implicit, that moved each of them to write and publish their autobiographies, memoirs, and diaries are set out and analyzed.
