Resumen de Rehabilitación vestibular para el vértigo: una revisión bibliogáfica

  El vértigo es un síntoma frecuente y extremadamente limitante, que va en desmedro de la calidad de vida del paciente. En la actualidad, si bien se utilizan técnicas como la Rehabilitación Vestibular (RV), es habitual la utilización de medicamentos que inhiben la actividad vestibular o en ocasiones más severas la aplicación de cirugías, que aunque eliminan los síntomas de la crisis también inhabilitan las funciones regulares del sistema. En la presente revisión se pretende realizar una valoración de la evidencia existente acerca de la efectividad de la rehabilitación vestibular como tratamiento al vértigo vestibular de origen periférico.

  The vertigo is a frequent symptom and extremely limiting, that declines the patient�s quality of life. Nowadays, although techniques like Vestibular Rehabilitation (RV) are used, the use of medicine that inhibits the vestibular activity or on more severe ocations the application of surgeries - even thoough they eliminate the symptoms of the crisis, they also disable the regular functions of the system - it�s usual. In this revision an assesment of the existing evidence about the effectiveness of the vestibular rehabilitation as a treatment to the vestibular vertigo of peripheral origin is pretended.
